Colours and Crazy Hair!

Crazy Hair Day always bring a layer of excitement and some very creative ideas! Angelina's hair went through a pop can, Lyric and Leighlund went with rainbow hair spray, Nyanwut had many tiny hair buns, Shandy had two hair buns that looked like little ears, Erich had a giant flower, Julia with her mini mouse ears, Daniel with spiky gold and blue hair and I went with a beautiful hot pink wig. I wish I got a picture of Mrs. Ashworth's green wig that was awesome. It was definitely a great way to end the week.

Our colour crafts have allowed the students to experiment with a variety of familiar and new materials in different ways. The goldfish made a big mess in their agendas sorry about that 😉
Blue Day Painted with Sponges and used Gold Fish crackers

Purple Day - Used only our thumbs to make thumb prints for grapes.

But it was also fun to paint with.
Well we may have eaten the chocolate pudding...

Brown Day - Finger painted with chocolate pudding.

Pink Day - The students coloured their whole flamingo Pink and then we added feathers!
There were pink feathers everywhere!

Math Zones

We also gave math zones a try this week. In math zones each table has different activities. The students work with one activity for 10 min and then move to the next table. They did great work!

First Colour Week Off to a great Start!

My hands were usually full of paint trying to keep the kids
clean but I was able to snap a few pictures of their awesome crafts!
Red Day - Apple Cores with coffee beans for seeds.
Black Day - Hand print spiders.

Yellow Day - Paper and paper plate sun.
Green Day - Cork Turtles

Our class did an amazing job on our school bus trip to church and during mass.
I still think it was awesome that the yellow school bus picked us up
on Yellow Day! Wished I snapped a picture.
A big THANK-YOU to our parent volunteers that were able to help.
We couldn't have gone without you.

Waiting so nicely to enter the Church

Busy Week.

I hope all the students had as much fun as I did these first few days of full day kindergarten. It is a blessing to spend my time with the children and I am so happy to be their teacher.

Biggest Highlight from the week:  Terry Fox our Canadian Hero!
The students did a great job running with their grade 3/4 buddies.

I only grabbed a few pictures.
Watching the Terry Fox Movie in the Gym

Our Terry Fox Tattoo. (they are washable no worries)

Crossing the finish line!
